Independent Brands recognised at Melbourne International Wine Competition

It’s time to celebrate! Several of our brands – Uppercut, Two Truths, Kamana. St Augustus and Overexposed have won major awards at the prestigious Melbourne International Wine Competition 2019 held recently.

Maschio Dei Cavalieri Treviso DOC Prosecco – produced in Italy’s famous Treviso region, north of Venice, was also awarded an exciting accolade.

The results were impressive considering there were over 1000 entries from over 10 countries

The Melbourne International Wine Show is the first show of the 2019 Australian wine competitions and is particularly important because of its knowledgeable judging panel. It’s renowned as one of Australia’s best liquor industry events as it is the only wine competition to be judged by a trade-only blind tasting judging panel, that scores wines by category and price.

The panel is comprised of those with expert industry knowledge including retail buyers, sommeliers, restaurant owners, hotel directors, distributors and importers.

The medals awarded include:

SILVER MEDAL:

  • Uppercut Riesling
  • Uppercut McLaren Vale Shiraz
  • Two Truths Sauvignon Blanc

BRONZE MEDAL:

  • Kamana Pinot Noir
  • Kamana Sauvignon Blanc
  • Maschio Dei Cavalieri Treviso Prosecco
